Outdoor Education

Three Hagges Wood-Meadow is the perfect setting for school children to learn about their local environment through our curriculum linked workshops.

Our secure, 25-acre site provides a unique environment perfectly suited to our activities which include mini beast hunts and woodland nature trails.

Our workshops are designed for key stage 1 and 2 classes and include:

 

  • Food chains
  • Meadows
  • Trees
  • Mini beasts
  • Habitats
  • Pollination
  • Seed dispersal
  • Woodland nature trail

We have developed four curriculum-linked packs, in partnership with OPAL (Open Air Laboratories) on food chains, meadows, pollination and seed dispersal.

School visits can be self-led however we recommend you book a guided visit.

All school visits must be booked in advance. Please complete our enquiry form and a member of our team will contact you to discuss and confirm your requirements.

Outdoor Education FAQ's

When should we visit?

We welcome schools Monday to Friday during term time.

How much time should we allow?

In our experience, many schools find they have not allowed enough time. We would recommend spending at least four hours with us.

What should we bring?
  • Pencils and paper
  • Depending on what time of day you visit us we would recommend you bring either a snack and a drink, or a packed lunch and a drink.
  • Clothing suitable for the season and always pack a waterproof jacket.
  • Hats and sun cream on sunny days.
Where can we eat?

In Bodgers’ Den which is situated in Three Hagges Wood-Meadow.

What about health and safety?

All visits require a risk assessment and we will do our utmost to ensure that your visit is fun, worthwhile and safe and have provided a sample risk assessment to assist you.

How can I book our outdoor education visit?
All school visits should be booked in advance by filling in our outdoor education enquiry form . Someone from our team will then be in touch to finalise details with you. Your school will be invoiced after your visit.
