The Eco-Explorers project sets out to offer young people a hands-on experience of wildlife recording and learning about their local habitats and ecosystems with professional ecologists.

Through a combination of talks delivered at local schools, workshops and a film weekend at Three Hagges Wood-Meadow and the Snap Wild Photography Competition we hope to get more young people outdoors and engaging with their natural heritage.

Three workshops are being held in the wood-meadow for pupils from the schools which we visit. The workshops will cover wildlife recording, exploring plants, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals and invertebrates.

The Wildlife Filming Weekend will teach young people how to make their very own wildlife documentary.  Nick Atherton filmmaker and biologist will teach young people how to plan, script, shot and edict films over two days with experts.
